Jimmy Beadle has the experience and qualities to help fire Tadcaster Albion into the Evo Stik League, according to Billy Miller.
Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title-chasers Tadcaster confirmed the signing of Beadle on Friday afternoon, along with the news that Nick Thompson and Tom Claisse are staying at the i2i Sports Stadium.
Beadle, who has also played for Whitby Town, Pickering Town and York City as well as spells in Sweden, Norway and Australia, left Scarborough Athletic on Thursday afternoon.
Miller told Non League Yorkshire: “I think his track record is proven and I think he will be a great addition to the squad.
“He’ll add quality to a midfield which is vastly experienced with lots of quality.
“He scored twice against Railway last season when they beat us 3-2 at their place.
“I have been well aware of him and for a return of 20 goals from an attacking midfielder in the Evo Stik Division One North is a phenomenal achievement.
“He has also won the NCEL title with Scarborough. We have talked about having a winning mentality and being part of a team that he isn’t afraid to play anyone at any time.
“He has been part of that at Scarborough. It is fair to say when Scarborough went up they were a formidable force.
“Hopefully he will improve the squad because it is going to be a tough year, no doubt about it.”
Beadle is the fifth new signing at Tadcaster since the appointment of Miller in mid-May.
He follows on from Matt Heath, Gary Stevens, Jordan Armstrong and Adam Baker. Most of the squad is already confirmed for next season apart from Denny Ingram and Matt Sparkes, who have departed.
Asked about when he first targeted Beadle, Miller added: “It came about from a chance conversation with Josh Greening, who is a really good friend of his.
“I know he had been speaking to Scarborough about what he wanted to do next.
“He sorted it out at that end and then we met. He came across as our type of footballer and he is someone who will increase the competition for places.”
