Harrogate Railway manager Billy Miller hopes Nathan Cartman can go on and make a name for himself at neighbours Harrogate Town.
Cartman was dual-registered with Simon Weaver’s Town on Saturday morning after an impressive appearance in the Skrill North’s side 3-1 victory over a Leeds United X1 last week in a friendly.
Cartman then made his competitive debut for Town as a second half substitute in the 2-1 success against Stalybridge Celtic at the weekend.
The striker has been a star performer for Railway this season in the Evo Stik Division One North having scored 14 times since August.
The former Leeds United youth team player also hit four goals in his final three appearances for Railway and Miller is delighted for the player who he also managed at Liversedge.
“I’ve said all season that I have a great group of players here,” he said.
“We have a special relationship with Harrogate Town which makes us stronger.
“We’ve seen Nathan Cartman go the other way this week having played in their friendly against Leeds last Wednesday. He set the first goal up and scored the third.
“I’m over the moon for the kid. He came into Harrogate early on Saturday morning to sign for them and then I picked him up and took him back to my house.
“We had something to eat and I had a really good chat with him before I dropped him off again (at Harrogate Town). I’ve spoken to people like Nige Corner and Shep (Dave Shepherd) and the other important people around the club and there is not a single person at this club who wouldn’t wish him well.
“He is so popular and such a nice person off-the-pitch.”
