Striker Calum Ward has left Ossett Town and re-joined Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title contenders Tadcaster Albion – the club who released him at the end of last season.
Tadcaster Paul Marshall let Ward leave Ings Lane after the forward had scored over 15 times for Albion – including a magical hat-trick in the famous FA Cup victory over Skelmersdale United.
Marshall admitted last week to the Wetherby News that he wanted to Ward to return to Tadcaster and his pursuit looked set to fail until 24 hours ago.
Marshall will now hope Ward adds the extra firepower needed to propel Tadcaster into the Evo Stik Division One North for the first time in the club’s history.
Ward has been enjoying a fantastic season. Having signed for Glasshoughton Welfare in July, the striker found the net on 15 occasions and his performances attracted the attention of Ossett boss Craig Elliott.
He signed for Ossett in October and leaves after scoring six times. His final appearance came in the controversial 1-1 draw at Farsley AFC.
On his departure, Ward tweeted: “Want to wish @OssettTownAFC the best for the future. Good club with a great set of lads and management. Thanks for the opportunity.”
