New Handsworth signing David Haggerty with Peter Duffield

Centre-back David Haggerty has returned to the club where he started playing football – Handsworth Parramore.

Since playing for Handsworth at a young age, Taggerty has gone on to play for the likes of Eastwood Town, Ilkeston, FC Halifax Town, Buxton and Matlock Town.

He also had a brief spell with Toolstation NCEL Premier Division champions Shaw Lane Aquaforce last season.

Handsworth manager Peter Duffield said: “I’m delighted that we have been able to bring someone of David’s experience into the club.

“He’s only 24 but has good qualities and experience that will further enhance the options within our squad.”

Haggerty could make his debut on Saturday when Parramore host Nostell Miners Welfare at Sandy Lane.
