Parkgate and Pontefract Collieries battled out a 2-2 draw in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division encounter in Rotherham.

Both sides had new players making their debuts as Shaw Lane defender James Cotterill lined up for Parkgate and Max Leonard and Jack Mawson were in Pontefract’s starting eleven.

Leonard made an instant impression as an early effort was saved by Ben Brunt. The ball dropped to Liam Radford who gave Pontefract the lead by scoring from the rebound.

Parkgate responded midway through the half with two quick-fire goals from Sam Foulds.

Foulds delivered the equaliser with a bullet header and then fired his side ahead with a powerful strike.

Parkgate got caught out on the counter attack for Pontefract’s equaliser and Aaron Moxam went onto score a simple tap-in.
