Shaw Lane Aquaforce returned to winning ways in the Evo Stik Division One South with an easy 3-0 victory at Gresley.
It was almost plain-sailing for Aquaforce, whose attacking midfielder Alex Davidson hit the crossbar from just four minutes.
The lead was soon taken when Matt Thornhill crossed for star man Gavin Allott. The former Frickley striker laid the ball back to Thornhill, who scored.
Allott got his goal on the stroke of half-time as Gresley’s defence were all at sea. Allott was able to race through and score past the helpless goalkeeper Ryan Swift.
Gresley did spur a golden opportunity to pull a goal back as Alex Steadman’s penalty was saved by Aquaforce goalkeeper Ian Deakin.
Spurred on by the penalty miss, Aquaforce wrapped the game up by the hour mark. Allott was involved again with a cross which his strike partner Lee Morris was able to convert.
